eero Max 7
The Max 7 is eero's flagship WiFi 7 router and the first vertical product in the lineup. A deliberate break from the flat squircle shaped products that defined the brand for nearly a decade.

The Brief
Moving away from its horizontal past, eero was adopting a new vertical architecture for its WiFi 7 antenna architecture. Our task was to translate their well-defined hardware brand language into this new form orientation, while differentiating from existing competitors in the market.

Direction
The vertical posture housed significant wins. With the stackup being larger, it allowed the device to take up a smaller footprint than its horizonal counterparts. The tall, slim, form allowed for fanless venting by creating a chimney effect through the entire enclosure. The soft domed language of eero's past was moved to the back of the enclosure, while a new sharper, speed-driven facade was created on the front.

Form & Iteration
The form iterated around explorations of completely new design languages, to direct comparisons to past products. Ultimately landing on a combination of both that both nods to the past design language, while propelling it forward for future products to come.

What Shipped
