Mission Mini
The second computer in Endless's Mission lineup. A smaller, ARM based micro PC built to extend the brand into the US entry level market without losing its signature use of natural materials.

The Brief
Mission was the US-facing sub-brand of Endless Inc. and Mission Mini was their low cost introduction to the market. The brief was to evolve the visual language of its predecessor to significantly reduce costs without breaking it.

Direction
A square shaped body with a flat bamboo top slab and a wraparound vent pattern. This kept the natural material story front and center while collapsing assembly complexity. The pattern reads as decorative but does double duty as part of the venting strategy.

Form & Iteration
The previous device's laser cut hole pattern was redesigned into the injection molded body itself, removing a secondary process and the QA rejects that came with it. The bamboo went from a full wrap on earlier mockups down to a single top slab which was cheaper to source, easier to assemble, and required less processing.

CMF
White injection molded body with a real bamboo top carried the brand language forward while adopting friendlier manufacturing practices. A matte aluminum accent around the perimeter of the bamboo accentuated the main brand element as a premium touch.

What Shipped
